1996 | First attempt by the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry to create a Hellenic Network for Social Cohesion. | | | 1999 | New round of discussions on the creation of a Hellenic Network. Attended by 13 businesses and 3 business associations. | | | 1999 | 13 businesses and 3 business associations sign a proclamation for the creation of the Hellenic Network for Social Cohesion. | | | 2000 | The organisation is legally registered as a Non-Profit company, under the name “Hellenic Network of Businesses for Social Cohesion” | | | 2000 | The Network becomes a National Partner Organisation of CSR Europe. | | | 2001 | The Network’s name is changed to “Hellenic Network for Corporate Social Responsibility”. | | | 2001 | In November 2001, the “European Mission for CSR 2005” Business Marathon begins in Athens. An initiative by CSR Europe, in conjunction with all its National Partner Organisations, to promote Corporate Social Responsibility in Europe. | | | 2001 | The first research project into Corporate Social Responsibility in Greece, initiated by the Hellenic Network in conjunction with the University of Athens, is completed. | | | 2003 | The Network changes its legal status. Following a decision by the General Assembly of its members, the Non-Profit Company becomes a Non-Profit Association. | | | 2003 | Network membership rises to 47. | | | 2005 | The first catalogue of good practices, entitled “Corporate Social Responsibility – 50+ Good practices”, is published. | | | 2006 | The European Commission charges the Hellenic Network with implementing a programme for “Promoting CSR in Small and Medium-size Enterprises”. The programme is given the name “HERMES”. | | | 2006 | A Memorandum of Collaboration for the promotion of gender equality in the workplace is signed with the Secretariat General for Equality. | | | 2007 | The “Doing Business Socially” Convention is organised. | | | 2007 | Network membership reaches 100. | |
