Mission Statement of the National Partner Organisations (NPOs) Network of CSR Europe
The Network of National Partners Organisations (NPOs) of CSR Europe work with over 2,000 companies and key stakeholders in 22 countries across Europe to raise awareness, build capacity, promote and support the development and implementation of CSR practices. Through collaborative action and membership services, we strive to lead a local, national and European movement towards responsible and sustainable business.
Launched in 1996, CSR Europe’s National Partners’ Network is a Pan-European network of leading CSR organizations committed to promoting CSR innovation and best practice exchange at national and European level. National Partners are membership-based organizations led by business, for business, who believe that CSR provides unlimited opportunities for companies to contribute to a better society and environment beyond legal requirements. Together, this practitioners’ network represents more than 2,000 of Europe’s most pioneer companies who practically engage in mainstreaming responsible business practice across their organizations.
NPOs work closely with key stakeholders such as government, industry and commerce federations, NGOs, academia and the media to further the development and uptake of CSR in their countries, forming a national CSR movement. Our goal is to strengthen the CSR movement in Europe, enhance activities at national and European level, combine and share national experiences and serve the member companies in the broadest and most efficient possible way.
As partners within the network, the NPOs are motivated by a shared vision and goals under the overall umbrella of the European Roadmap for a Competitive and Sustainable Enterprise. Through CSR Europe, the network accesses and influences CSR thinking at European business and political level.
As a main contributor to the European Alliance on CSR, a voluntary framework based on companies’ engagement with stakeholders, the NPO network (through its respective national organizations) seeks to contribute to Europe’s most pressing economic, social and environmental challenges such as global warming, demographic change and social inclusion. To this end, national partners participate in an ongoing creation of tools and expertise in a variety of topics, aimed to facilitate companies’ adoption of sustainable and ethical practices. In addition, the NPO Network offers a unique platform for collaboration among partners on concrete CSR related project.
