Today, HELLENIC PETROLEUM S.A. forms the largest industrial and commercial Group; the most dynamic and profitable in the domestic petroleum market.
In 1975, the Public Petroleum Corporation S.A. (DPE) is established and in 1976, the Greek State acquires the Hellenic Aspropyrgos Refineries S.A. (ELDA).
In 1985, a unified hydrocarbon framework is created and DEP S.A. becomes the parent company of the DEP Group.
In 1998, DEP is renamed HELLENIC PETROLEUM S.A. absorbs PETROLA HELLAS A.E.B.E. via a merger.
Today, the Group has 3 refineries in Greece , which account for 76% of the refinery capacity of the country, as well as one refinery in Skopje , FYROM. The Group employs 5.760 people in total.
The commercial activities of the Group via its subsidiary EKO are equally important domestically and abroad ( Georgia , Serbia , Bulgaria , Albania , Cyprus , and Montenegro ).
The Group holds a dominant position in the production of petrochemicals domestically.
The Group activities included research in the production of hydrocarbons, technical studies (ASPROPYRGOS), power generation, natural gas, pipeline networks and sea transport.
HELLENIC PETROLEUM S.A. in the framework of its corporate social responsibility, participates and supports sponsorships, financial aid, scholarships, development programs, seminars, educational conferences, cultural, social and athletic events, improvement of the work environment, guarantees for healthy and safe work conditions; contributing to Municipalities / Communities and to society in general.
